Apple HomeView puts metered Siri AI in the living room

Apple HomeView is a $299 smart display with Siri AI. Pre-orders began Oct. 13; it ships Nov. 13. Server AI features have daily limits and a future fee.

Apple announced Apple HomeView on Monday, Oct. 13, 2026: a 7-inch Liquid Retina smart-home display and speaker with built-in Siri AI. Pre-orders opened the same day. It is available Friday, Nov. 13, 2026, at $299 in the United States for both the tabletop and wall-mounted models.

The hardware

According to Apple’s Newsroom release, HomeView runs on an A18 chip, recognizes up to six faces and works with HomeKit and Matter. Tabletop colors are silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. Wall-mounted models come in space gray and silver.

Schneider Home wall mounts include USB-C models from $59.95, AC-wired models from $79.95, and a Power-over-Ethernet option expected in early 2027 at $129.95, Apple said.

Siri AI is in beta in HomeView software 27.2. At launch it works in English in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa, according to Apple footnotes.

Server-side limits and a future fee

Apple’s fine print states: “Certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models are subject to daily usage limits. Expanded access to such features will be available for a fee in the future” (Apple Newsroom footnote 2; product-page footnote). The product page also says “Usage limits may apply”.

Apple has not published a dollar amount or a requests-per-day table. On-device and many core features ship with the hardware. The “metered” description in this article refers only to those disclosed server-side limits and the promised future fee — not to a live monthly Siri subscription, which Apple has not announced.

Not for sale in the EU yet

HomeView is not for sale in the European Union while Siri AI is unavailable on iOS there. Apple said it is “working constructively” with the EU, according to the Newsroom pricing section.

Same day: Apple TV 4K

Also on Oct. 13, Apple unveiled a new Apple TV 4K (fourth generation) at $299, with an A19 chip, far-field microphones and Siri AI. Pre-orders opened Oct. 13; availability is Nov. 13. Apple frames HomeView as a shared household display and smart-home dashboard, and Apple TV 4K as a set-top streamer that needs a television.

MacRumors reported on Oct. 14 that a HomePod mini 2 ships Oct. 30, with Siri AI arriving in a later update rather than on day one.

What’s next / what’s unknown

Apple has not said when expanded server-side access will go on sale, what it will cost, or when HomeView might ship in the EU.
