D'Andre Swift ran for three second-half touchdowns, and the Chicago Bears beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night at Lumen Field, improving to 6-2 with their third straight win, according to the Bears' game recap.

Swift had 69 yards on 27 carries. "I know that he didn't have a ton of yards, but 27 attempts and three touchdowns, every single yard was earned by him," Bears coach Ben Johnson said, according to the team.

Seattle fell to 4-4 and lost for the third time in four games, The Associated Press reported. The loss ended a 30-game streak in the regular season and playoffs in which the Seahawks had not lost by more than four points, according to AP.

How it unfolded

Chicago opened with a 17-play, 80-yard drive that ended with Caleb Williams' 1-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden III. Cairo Santos added field goals of 44 and 38 yards for a 13-3 lead before Sam Darnold hit Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a 43-yard touchdown pass with 30 seconds left in the half. Jason Myers missed the extra point, according to the Bears' recap.

Swift's 1-yard run made it 20-9 in the third quarter. Early in the fourth, Austin Booker blocked a 33-yard field-goal try by Myers. Seattle then pulled within 20-17 after DeMarcus Lawrence forced and recovered a fumble by Colston Loveland, setting up Darnold's 7-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp and a two-point conversion.

Chicago answered when Kalif Raymond turned a short pass into a 39-yard gain, and Swift scored from 5 yards out for a 27-17 lead with 8:28 left. Booker then deflected a Darnold pass that James Lynch intercepted and returned 16 yards to the Seattle 6, and Swift's third touchdown, another 5-yard run, made it 34-17 with 4:41 to play.

Williams and Simmons

Williams completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers, according to the Bears and AP. Rome Odunze led Chicago with 87 receiving yards on four catches.

Jeffery Simmons, acquired last week from Tennessee, had a sack on Seattle's opening drive in his Bears debut, AP reported. Johnson described his impact as "profound," according to AP. "When I attacked the field, I wasn't worried about the trade," Simmons said, according to AP.

Chicago held Seattle to 252 yards and one third-down conversion in 11 tries, AP reported. Darnold was 17 of 34 for 188 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and Seattle ran for 81 yards.

"We got beat. No other way to sugar coat it," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said, according to AP.

Injuries and next games

Bears defensive linemen Grady Jarrett (groin) and Kentavius Street (knee) left the game with injuries, and Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams left in the second half with a stinger and did not return, AP reported. Chicago hosts Tampa Bay on Sunday night, and Seattle hosts Arizona on Sunday, according to AP.
