Eric Bauza, the Emmy-winning voice actor who became the modern voice of Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at 46, his family said Sunday.

"Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly. More details to come," the family said in a statement posted to his Instagram account, as quoted by Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and MovieWeb.

Variety reported that Bauza died Sunday at his home. The Hollywood Reporter said he had been scheduled to attend a Warner Bros. premiere Sunday afternoon.

"Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world," Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and U.S. Networks, said in a statement. "He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc. Eric said that carrying on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes was among the greatest honors of his life." Dungey said Bauza had spent 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation.

In this year's Looney Tunes film "Coyote vs. Acme," Bauza voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Road Runner and other characters, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. He also voiced Looney Tunes characters in "Space Jam: A New Legacy" and the series "Looney Tunes Cartoons," the outlets reported.

Born Dec. 7, 1979, in Scarborough, Toronto, Bauza began his career as a character designer before turning to voice work and amassed more than 400 acting credits, Variety reported. He won three Children's & Family Emmy Awards, for "Teen Titans Go!," "Bugs Bunny Builders" and "Looney Tunes Cartoons," according to Variety. His other roles included the title character in "The Adventures of Puss in Boots" and Fozzie in "Muppet Babies," The Hollywood Reporter said.

At the time of his death, Bauza was in pre-production on "Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical," as Daffy Duck, and "The Dragon Masters," Variety reported.
