A St. Paul, Minnesota, man ran onto a moving school bus and helped stop it after the driver had a medical emergency on Monday afternoon, Oct. 19, in the city's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood, KSTP reported.

"I saw a bus roll past me with the doors open, and I saw the bus driver seizing up," Ebro Ahmed told KSTP.

"So I just ran out to the bus, I tried to put it in park, I threw it in reverse by accident, and then I ended up getting it in neutral, pulled the parking brake," Ahmed said. "And then I called the police and called the ambulances so they could help the driver."

Ahmed said he counted 18 children on the bus when police arrived, KSTP reported. None were hurt, according to KSTP.

St. Paul Public Schools said a medical emergency occurred on a bus route from Battle Creek Middle School and that paramedics responded, KSTP reported. In a Wednesday update, the district said the driver had been released from the hospital and was resting at home, according to KSTP. Another bus picked the students up and took them home, and the school's mental health team checked in with them, the district said.

Ahmed said he has no medical experience and credited the TV show "Grey's Anatomy," KSTP reported.
