Fairbairn's 49-yard field goal at the gun lifts Texans past Jaguars 34-31 at Wembley
Houston won its second straight game after an 0-4 start; Jacksonville's Travis Hunter caught a touchdown and intercepted a pass, and umpire Larry Smith was carted off after slipping on the wet field in the first quarter.

Ka'imi Fairbairn kicked a 49-yard field goal as time expired, and the Houston Texans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-31 at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday.
The Jaguars had tied it 31-31 on Cam Little's 60-yard field goal with 1:55 left before the Texans drove for the winning kick. Houston improved to 2-4 with its second consecutive win after an 0-4 start, while the AFC South-leading Jaguars fell to 4-2 and had a three-game winning streak snapped.
How it unfolded
Houston led 17-14 at halftime and 31-21 after three quarters, according to the official scoring summary.
C.J. Stroud completed 24 of 34 passes for 312 yards, according to the Jaguars and NBC Sports. He threw two first-half touchdown passes to tight end Foster Moreau, the second with eight seconds left in the half, and a 13-yard score to Jaylin Noel to open the second half, the Jaguars' game report said. Running back Jawhar Jordan's 25-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter put Houston up 31-21.
Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 24 of 41 passes for 306 yards, the team said. According to the Jaguars' play-by-play summary, he threw touchdown passes to running back Bhayshul Tuten, rookie tight end Nate Boerkircher and Hunter, and Tuten also scored on a 2-yard run. Lawrence was also intercepted in the end zone by Texans cornerback Kamari Lassiter in the second quarter.
Hunter's 7-yard touchdown catch early in the fourth quarter cut Houston's lead to 31-28, and one series later he intercepted Stroud in the end zone. NBC Sports said Hunter became the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to record an interception and a touchdown catch in the same game.
Umpire carted off
Umpire Larry Smith slipped on the wet grass between plays in the first quarter, fell, tried to get up and fell again, NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk reported. Trainers from both teams attended to him, and he was taken off on a cart with what appeared to be a leg injury, according to the report. The NFL has six-official mechanics for such situations, with the referee taking on more of the umpire's duties, the report said.
Smith is in his second NFL season, and his full-time job is as a school principal in Kansas City, Kansas, Pro Football Talk reported. The NFL had not announced an update on his condition as of this article's time stamp.
Why it matters
The result tightens the AFC South: Jacksonville remains in first place, but Houston has now won two in a row after losing its first four.
