Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown, and Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 on Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field.
Williams carried 25 times, and his 155 rushing yards were the most by a Cowboys player in a game since Ezekiel Elliott had 159 against Tampa Bay in 2016, NFL.com reported, citing NFL Research. Dallas ran for 204 yards on 38 carries, according to NFL.com.
Prescott completed 15 of 27 passes for 212 yards with no interceptions and was not sacked, according to the box score. CeeDee Lamb caught five passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and George Pickens had a 21-yard touchdown catch.
How it happened
Philadelphia led 21-20 after Makai Lemon caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Tanner McKee midway through the third quarter. Dallas answered with a 16-yard scoring pass from Prescott to Lamb, and Prescott ran in the two-point conversion for a 28-21 lead with 1:30 left in the quarter.
Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown later intercepted a McKee pass intended for Dallas Goedert, the game's only turnover, USA Today reported. Brandon Aubrey added a 24-yard field goal, his third of the night, and Williams scored on a 2-yard run with 2:21 left. The Cowboys outgained the Eagles 416 yards to 321.
McKee, starting at quarterback for Philadelphia, completed 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards with a touchdown and an interception and was sacked twice.
Barkley returns, then exits
Barkley, who had missed the previous two games with a hamstring injury, ran seven times for 62 yards, including a 29-yard run and an 8-yard touchdown on the opening drive, NFL.com reported. He played nine snaps before leaving when his back tightened, according to NFL.com. Afterward, Barkley said his "hamstring came out great," per ESPN, as cited by NFL.com.
The win moved Dallas to 3-4. Philadelphia fell to 2-5.
