Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Jalen Williams has a fractured fibula and a dislocated left ankle and will need surgery, general manager Sam Presti said Monday, according to Thunder beat writer Brandon Rahbar.

"It's a surgical situation," Presti said, according to Rahbar. "We'll have a timeline once we get through the surgery." He added: "He's in great spirits."

Cason Wallace, a starter, has a torn labrum in his left shoulder, ESPN's Shams Charania reported. Charania reported that both players will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months, "most, if not the entire season." ESPN and The Associated Press reported that Presti also said at his news conference that Wallace needs surgery, with a timeline to come after the operation.

Williams was hurt with 1:14 left in Sunday night's 108-101 home win over the Los Angeles Clippers, when he was fouled on a drive and landed awkwardly, ESPN and the AP reported. He was taken off the court on a stretcher, and the game was stopped for about five minutes. Wallace was hurt in the first quarter of the same game, ESPN reported.

"Tough night last night," Presti said, according to the AP. "There's no way to paint that differently." He said the team is "extremely optimistic about the recovery for both the players."

Williams, an All-Star and All-NBA selection, was a key part of the Thunder's 2025 championship team. He missed 49 regular-season games last season, mostly with wrist and hamstring problems, the AP reported.

What is not known

The Thunder have not said when either player will have surgery or given a timetable for either return. The "most, if not the entire season" estimate is Charania's reporting; Presti said a timeline will come after surgery. The team has not said how it will fill the two players' spots on the roster.
