Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted 3 Houthi ballistic missiles aimed at Eastern Province and 4 drones aimed at the south

Saudi Civil Defense issued early-warning alerts for the Eastern Province and Al-Kharj before the coalition statements, then gave the all-clear. Neither the coalition nor Civil Defense reported casualties or damage.

As of 9:26 a.m. ET, Oct. 27, 2026

The Saudi-led coalition says air defenses intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles that it said the Houthis fired toward Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province late Monday ET, early Tuesday in Saudi Arabia.

"Air defenses intercepted and destroyed 3 ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the Eastern Region," the coalition spokesman's account, @CJFCSpox, posted in Arabic at 8:37 p.m. ET Monday. The Saudi Press Agency carried the statement two minutes later.

About an hour later, at 9:46 p.m. ET, the spokesman's account said the coalition had intercepted and destroyed four drones that it said the Houthis launched toward Saudi Arabia's southern region. The Saudi Press Agency carried that statement at 9:47 p.m. ET. Neither statement reported casualties, damage or debris, or named a target.

Alerts and all-clear

Saudi Civil Defense issued a National Early Warning Platform alert for the Eastern Province at 8:04 p.m. ET Monday and for Al-Kharj Governorate at 8:08 p.m. ET. It said the danger had passed in the Eastern Province at 8:14 p.m. ET and in Al-Kharj at 8:15 p.m. ET. At 8:16 p.m. ET it posted an Interior Ministry warning that filming, publishing or sharing information about the interception of missiles and drones or their impact sites "exposes you to legal liability."

Civil Defense issued further alerts and all-clears early Tuesday ET for Najran, and later for Najran, Khamis Mushait and Abha, and reposted the same Interior Ministry warning. The coalition had not issued a statement about those alerts as of this writing.

What is not known

No casualties or damage have been officially reported. The counts and the attribution to the Houthis are the coalition's own and have not been independently verified. No Reuters, AP or AFP confirmation had been published.
